Cisgender Men's Experiences with Masculinity


As part of a larger study investigating the impact of masculinity on jealousy and reactions during a mate poaching scenario (see Charlot, Carpenter, & Pauker, 2015), participants responded to an open ended question asking them to write about a time that they either felt highly masculine, or highly emasculated. 


Following methods outlined by Attride-Stirling (2001) for a qualitative thematic analysis, the following themes were identified:
